Annual Shoot and Share Photo Contest Results!
One of the most daunting aspects of being a photographer is putting your images out there and finding out what people truly think of your work. The idea of someone not loving a portrait I poured my heart and soul into, well it’s terrifying. Yet, at the same time, I tell my students all the time, one of the best ways to grow is to have someone critique your work. This year I submitted a set of images to the annual Shoot and Share Photo Contest for photographers. I was so pleased to have six images place in the top 30%, including one in the top 7%! Once the contest was over we were able to see how each image we entered specifically placed. It was very interesting to go back and see how some of the photos ranked versus others. Some entries that did really well were images I was more emotionally invested in rather than being one of my technically stronger entries. Although there is no critique or personal feedback with the process it was a fun adventure to be a part of. I can’t wait for it again next year as well as my next critique submission process! So, I’d love to know…which one is your favorite? Leave me a message in the comments!
