Beth + Richie : Surprise Picnic Proposal
Eighteen years ago while in middle school I met Beth for the first time. She was full of life, spunky, a ton of fun to be around and we just instantly became best friends. We had night after night summer sleepover marathons in middle school which then turned into shopping filled weekends with late night gab sessions in high school. We shared our lifelong childhood dreams together filled with which cute boy we were going to marry and how many kids we were going to have. We were always there for one another. After high school I started college and she later moved across the country. The distance didn’t keep us apart as it only made my middle of the night phone calls to vent more bearable for my early bird sleeper. She was there within hours of my son being born. She was the second person to find out I was pregnant with my daughter after she came running to my house one morning because she needed me. In the end I needed her just as much and she kept me going through my difficult pregnancy. I don’t know where I would be today without my best friend and I could never have imagined the last 18 years without her.
A couple months ago I got a phone call from Richie, Beth’s boyfriend and said he needed to ask me a favor. He was going to ask Beth to marry him and he wanted me there to capture the whole thing. Cue the waterworks! Richie and I planed everything out and although I may have lied a wee bit to convince her I desperately needed to help on a personal project I made sure to tell her she definitely needed to treat herself to an afternoon of pampering since she could use the images we captured for her Christmas cards. 😉 Elizabeth Ann, I can’t wait to stand by your side as you marry the man of your dreams. I love you!
