If your kids are anything like mine they are constantly climbing and jumping off of everything in sight! A little over a year ago our family started training for obsticle course races (OCR) as a way to stay fit, give the kids an outlet for all of that energy and more importantly to spend time together as a family. After attending a pop-up workshop hosted by Warrior Tech OCR at a local park we fell in love with their mission and the passion they had for incorporating fitness and family.
They began as a start up with a dream and earlier this year they opened their doors in Morrisville, NC as the first facility in the region of its kind. With a combination of ninja warrior training on their world-class rig as well as Spartan SGX training through group classes there is something for the whole family. They even have track out camps for kids and have become the hottest place for kids birthday parties in the Triangle! My kids beg me constantly to take them to Warrior Tech and once we get there, they refuse to leave!
This spring they hosted an epic open house event and invited over a dozen competitors from American Ninja Warrior! Fans of the show of all ages and supporters of the OCR world packed Warrior Tech’s facility to meet ninjas such as Jessie Graff, Grant McCartney, Maggi Thorne, Michelle Warnky, Jamie Rahn, Daniel Gil, Jake Murray, Brett Sims, Nick Hanson and several more. When I say epic, I mean it! I was thrilled to cover part of the event for them. After running with our kids in a Spartan race in SC that same morning, we were a bit late to the party!
The best part of the open house was watching the kids try things they have only ever seen their heroes do on tv. They were swinging on the rigs and running up the warped wall with each of the ninjas coaching and cheering them on. Seeing them share their passion for fitness with each of the kids was incredible. That is exactly what Warrior Tech is about. They encourage you to be your best, try your best and make the most out of everything you do.
It isn’t just a fitness facility. It is a place to go and find support and friendship. They have a saying, “Check us out. Bring a friend. Stay awhile. Become family.” I am so proud to be a part of this family and all of the amazing things they are doing! I can’t encourage you enough to stop by and see what they are all about. Give them a try, trust me you will not regret it!
